Electrical and Controls Project Engineer

Seeking a Electrical & Controls Project Engineer to support a capital expenditure project to expand a manufacturing facility. The project will entail adding an entire new production line to the facility. Seeking candidates with manufacturing construction, startup, and commissioning experience in a food and beverage, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment. Maintain working knowledge of corporate control system standards and guidelines. Apply knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and corporate standards in performing design reviews and in reviewing and troubleshooting field installations. Assist in the development of plant long-term controls infrastructure direction. Research and specify equipment and material for capital projects and plant systems improvements. Develop and/or manage project design, layouts and detailed drawings relative to assigned projects. Manage project documentation such as accurate prints, manuals, personnel training, spare parts and asset information. Develop and manage necessary project scopes, bids and contract documents for contractors and vendors. Secure bids from contractors and vendors, select and then manage their progress through project completion. Is active in and supports initiatives to improve safety, quality, and factory reliability. Work with facility operations/maintenance to address and improve equipment or process performance problems. Function as the expert resource for complicated, multiple parameters, control systems related problems that the maintenance staff is unable to solve. Assist in maintenance staff training and development. Assist in maintaining an up-to-date and complete set of electrical and controls as-built documentation. Provide technical support and guidance in reviewing the efforts of outside control system consultants. Interface with other corporate facilities or local businesses to discuss issues relating to past present or future projects. Responsible for considering facility safety, environmental, sanitation, and quality. Bachelor's Degree. Electrical Engineering focus is desired or equivalent work experience with electrical and controls. 8 - 10
years electrical and controls engineering experience. Project management experience managing project scope, scheduling, budget, bidding process and resources. Experienced in PLC programming (Rockwell). Previous manufacturing experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical or chemical industries. Experienced in new plant construction, startup, and commissioning. Experienced with analog instrumentation is a plus. Experienced with continuous process and batch control desired. Experienced with dosing and conveyance of raw materials desired. Ability to travel on occasion.
